About INTELFILES
INTELFILES is the document blog for INTELWIRE.com. Much of the content of this blog will consist of 9/11 Commission source documents.
About INTELWIRE
INTELWIRE.com is an investigative journalism Web site by terrorism analyst J.M. Berger. INTELWIRE has published thousands of pages of primary source documents on terrorism, extremism and related political issues, obtained from sources, court records and through the Freedom of Information Act. Documents are published online and in INTELWIRE Sourcebooks.
In addition to INTELWIRE's published documents, J.M. Berger maintains an exclusive private database of hundreds of thousands of pages of court transcripts and exhibits, intelligence materials, sensitive State Department cables, contact information and exclusive media reports. Berger also maintains a library of photos and videos of general terrorist activity and specific individuals of interest, usually suitable for broadcast and available for licensing. Berger is available as a consultant, producer and researcher for hire. Click here for more information.
Mission Statement
INTELWIRE is committed to making primary source information available to reporters, amateur researchers and the general public. Most of these documents are formerly classified, and most have never been published before. Many have been redacted by the government prior to their release. INTELWIRE has not redacted any information except in rare cases where inappropriate data, such as Social Security numbers, were inadvertently released.
Future Releases
The blog content will include thousands of pages of declassified documents footnoted in the Final Report of the 9/11 Commission. The blog will also publish thousands of pages of classified declassified documents related to the global War on Terror, Islamic radicalism, the history of al Qaeda and U.S. domestic terrorism, including right-wing, racist and Christian extremist groups.
Document Sources
INTELWIRE obtains documents through the Freedom of Information Act, court records and other sources. Costs often range into the hundreds of dollars for any given area of inquiry. Donations are welcome. You can also support INTELWIRE by purchasing INTELWIRE Sourcebooks, which encompass thousands of pages of source documents that have never been published anywhere.
